Q1: Which model of Charmast power banks is being recalled?

The voluntary recall only involves Charmast W1056 Power Bank

  • The recalled power bank model W1056 was offered for sale on Amazon.com USA site between approximately Dec 2018 and Sep 2024, for about $14 to about $25.​

Model W1056 is offered in Black, White, Blue, Purple, Green, Qing, 6 colors.

 

Only model W1056 is being recalled. Other Charmast power banks are not affected by this recall. Other countries(non-USA) are not affected.

How to find your model number?

The model number W1056 is displayed on the back of the power bank. Please see example images below:

Q2: How to recognize if the power bank I have on hand are subject to this recall?

Recall apply: If your power bank is Model W1056 and purchased it from Amazon.com USA site, immediately stop using the product and please follow the Recall information to complete your recall registration.

Otherwise, If your product is not Model W1056, or if you purchased item from Non-USA countries, then this recall does not apply to you and no further action is required.

Q3: Why are the power banks being recalled?

Charmast is voluntarily recalling the W1056 power banks because the lithium-ion battery in the power banks selling in Amazon USA site can overheat, posing a fire hazard.

Q4: Where is the recalled power banks sold? 

Model W1056 was sold on Amazon.com USA Site between approximately Dec 2018 and Sep 2024 for about $14 to about $25. 

Q5: How can I participate in the recall? What should I do? 

Step 1: Check if your power bank is recall power bank or not. Only Model W1056 selling in Amazon USA site is belong to recall power bank. Other Models, other countries are not in recall part.

Step 2: If you have a recalled power bank in hand, you should stop using it immediately and ensure that others will not have access to it.

Step 3: Submit a recall request. Please note that if your claim is approved, normally, the remedy process will start soon. But the detailed and accurate remedy time is subject to results with our recall after-sale e-mail (rcus@charmast.com).

By the way, these processing time may be delayed in the event of a holiday or if the total number of recalled inquiries is significant. Please understand, however, that the recall mailbox will remain staffed at least 8 hours a day for every working day, to handle all recalls. So please wait and understand their delays. Q6: How can I return the power bank? How should I dispose of the power bank? 

You do not need to return your power bank, please dispose of the recalled power banks in accordance with local and state regulations. Please keep, your proof of destruction or documents for subsequent applications for recall reimbursement, thank you.

(Please note that Recalled lithium-ion batteries should be disposed of in accordance with any local and state ordinances, following the procedures established by your municipal recycling center for damaged/defective/recalled lithium batteries, because these potentially hazardous batteries must be handled differently than other batteries. Do not throw this recalled power bank in the trash. Do not deposit this recalled power bank in used battery recycling boxes found at various retail and home improvement stores. )

Q7:Are other products included in the recall?

No.This recall is only limited to Model W1056 exclusively selling in Amazon.com USA site. Any other models or selling in other non-usa countries is not affected.

Q8:Are all countries where this product was shipped impacted?

No, not all countries in which this product was shipped are impacted. Only selling Model W1056 in amazon.com usa site are impacted.
